Story Behind the Artwork

I've always been drawn to the strength and character of longhorn cattle. Their sweeping horns and calm presence tell the story of the American West in a way that few other animals can. For this piece, I wanted to pair that iconic image with one of the country's most important historical documents.

Rather than creating a bold patriotic design, I chose a weathered, vintage look that lets both subjects work together. The faded parchment, historic handwriting, and detailed portrait of the longhorn give the artwork the feeling of an old document that has stood the test of time.
